[Who in their right mind would be up at the crack of dawn on this delightful Thursday in July, traipsing down to the Pokemon Center to make a Very Important Withdrawl™ from her PC? Well, possibly nobody in their right mind, but it certainly is Parker. Bright and early (or possibly really, really, really late, depending on when you consider "bedtime" to be a thing), she can be spotted heading out of the Violet City Pokemon Center with a fluffy red and blue egg in tow — and, impressively enough, followed along behind by just about every member of her roster, save for the evil ones and the horses (but she repeats herself).

Coincidentally, shortly thereafter she can also be spotted, still rather impressively — this time, atop some random south-facing shop's structurally sound purple awning: ]

[Whether or not one also hears a bout of muffled yet vaguely melodious chanting that may or may not sound conspicuously like NAAAAAAAAAAAANTS INGONYAMA BAGITHI BABAAAAAAAA as this is occurring is, of course, entirely a matter of speculation.

[The crack of dawn is around that hour when Ishimaru isn't really awake, but he's doing a fine job at pretending to be. Thankfully he doesn't actually have work this early, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't have other things to take care of - securing food for at least himself and his brother is one of them, and he'll often do so for the others as well in case they want it, and for the time being they are out of various essentials (it's only been four days, guys, can we stop eating all the things) and that is not going to be satisfactory. Even if a fair amount of places are not open at ugly o'clock in the morning, Ishimaru knows of a few that are, and he's currently trying to remember exactly where they're located when there is a...

...procession, apparently, on the next block over. What in the world.

He catches the end of it just out of the corner of his eye, but that's more than enough to get him to follow; it takes him a moment to make up for the delay but at least he manages eventually, though the reason all these Pokémon are just kind of clustered around this random shop is nowhere to be seen. Surely this is the work of a trainer, and whatever it is they're doing it's highly disruptive even if it is stupid o'clock and no one in their right mind is even awake and somebody is getting a talking-to.

...And then all of that goes right out the window because of course it does.

It takes him a moment to process what he is seeing (other than "an Archen being christened or something", because that much is completely obvious, right) but that...that certainly is Alice up there, isn't it.

...what the ever-loving christ, Alice, you are going to do his head in one day...]

[His voice is more than loud enough to carry over any subsequent ingonyama nengw' enamabala going on over there; it occurs to him after the fact that possibly startling her might not be the smartest idea he's ever had, but uh...he can cross that bridge if they come to it.]

You really shouldn't be up there, you know!

[It takes a little bit for Parker to return the message — she's got to get down from the awning, after all, and her camera~~man~~ frog is on the ground. But she's grinning despite the fading bruise on one cheek and the healing cut on her chin, and cradling her Archen a little too protectively as she does so.]

She's not green! She came out funny colors, instead. I guess that means she's pretty special, huh?

I don't have a lion yet!

[Meanwhile, the assembled ground troops — which includes a Hippopotas, a Carnivine, a Gloom, Breloom, Swalot, Aron, Banette, Zweilous, Seviper, Pikachu, and of course her Aerodactyl, Purrloin, and Nate and Sophie (whew!) — are all basically eyeing this newcomer in their midst. What a menagerie, huh.]

See if you can get a Shinx! They're lions!

[And wow, that sure is an impressive menagerie there!]

[She's somewhere in the middle of jesus christ, that surely is a lion / get into the car, that is a lion (having forgotten most of the words and substituting Hardison's personal variant instead) when the shout for Alice — oh, wait, no, that's her, she's Alice — comes ringing up from below.

Still majestically holding her weirdly-colored Archen aloft, she peers down to see — oh, hey, it's Ishimaru. Awesome! He of all people will truly understand the importance of this event.]

Hey! Great, you're just in time, look! She hatched, isn't that cool?

Yeah! It's okay, most of them don't bite. ...Not very hard, anyway.

[The conversation, she abruptly notes, would probably go more smoothly if they weren't bellowing at each other across the general area in order to do it, but seeing as how she doesn't actually know what she's supposed to do aside from holding her bird aloft...

Maybe if she just kind of HURLS IT MAJESTICALLY INTO THE AIR TO SPREAD ITS WINGS AND —

_{[Ralph doesn't know his pokeymans. She seems happy though so there must not be anything wrong with it. It takes him a moment but he notices that shiner. Alice is pretty active and he doesn't find the idea of her having bumps and scrapes hard to believe but that looked a looooot like something left behind by a fist.]}

Y'got a little somethin'. Right there.

[WELL THANK ARCEUS THAT HER AERODACTYL CAN and that it's slightly more competent here than Parker, because the potential crisis is narrowly averted through a series of excellent teamwork — her Carnivine delaying the Archen's fall with a rapidly-deployed Vine Whip, which buys her Aerodactyl enough time to get off the ground and pluck the blue and red rockbird out of the air more securely.

Parker, to her credit, looks horrified at this, and is already shimmying her way down off the awning to come investigate. It's more apparent now, with the distance closing, that her cheek is marred with a fading bruise, and there's a scabbed but healing cut on her chin.]

I don't get it! Switch could fly right out of the egg, and I know her dad knows how. She ought to be able to!

[THIS IS DISTRESSING.]

Yeah! Her dad is green. So I was expecting her to come out green too.

[Her dad is also shiny but that's beside the point.]

_{[He points at the spot on his own face and squints suspiciously.]}

[She pokes gingerly at her own face, mirroring his motion, and makes a displeased face accordingly. It still hurts a little (when poked, anyway), but the memory makes her scowl just as much.]

Some guy decked me last weekend.

Shit, can't all birds fly pretty early on? I mean, Pokémon aren't exactly normal birds, but if you say they can fly right after hatching, then what's wrong with this one?

[Mondo seems pretty concerned as well, but that was some damn impressive teamwork there. Also that Aerodactyl is really cool up close! He can't wait until his hatches!]

Hopefully she's alright! A fall like that could be pretty fucking terrifying...

[He trails off when he gets a good look at Parker. The injuries are pretty obvious and Mondo has to ask about them.]

Hey, you alright?

[At least he knows better than to say "wow you look pretty horrible" but that thought is clearly on his mind. He would say that girls don't get into fights, but there's Oogami...]

_{[Like the flipping of a switch, Ralph puts his rageface on and it is ugly.]}

[It's hard to say whether or not Toucan Sam the Archen is capable of comprehending human speech so early in her life, but if she could, she would basically be in complete agreement with Ishimaru on the GET ME DOWN FROM HERE thing right now, thanks.]

To meet the new baby! She's really special, too — she didn't turn out the color she's supposed to be.

I was minding my own business and he came up and started screaming at me. And then when I said I didn't know what he was talking about, he grabbed me and when I tried to get away, he started swinging.
